Mello'D'

MELLO’D’ formed in 2002 quite by accident when six friends were invited to perform on St. David’s Day at a local Golf Club’s party.  The ladies agreed to sing and arranged their programme entirely in the medium of Welsh; especially for this auspicious Welsh occasion. The response was overwhelming, with compliments and requests for further engagements; so they decided to adapt their repertoire accordingly (English) and have gone from strength to strength. They have since established themselves as a firm favourite with Groups, Clubs, Choirs, Residential Homes and other prominent constitutions. Joining local Male Voice Choirs has enabled them to perform at many prestigious venues. Their most recent tours took them to Cornwall and Germany. They have further expanded their range, which now consists of a unique programme incorporating songs through the medium of Welsh, well known songs from the shows, pop ballads, traditional folk songs and sacred pieces suitable for weddings or other religious occasions; enabling them to be extremely versatile and accommodating. The ladies have tried to move away from the traditional yet equable style of choral singing, that Wales is renowned for and have developed a style all of their own. Their relaxed attitude and sense of fun is permeated throughout their programme; the essential and all important special sound of three+ part harmony which is usually only delivered by large choirs; is the reason they are repeatedly asked to return to venues and annual events time and again. Their individual style has earned them a rewarding reputation and their eagerness to assist charitable, fund raising events is very commendable.
