Helena Hi, I'm Helena. I was born in Abergavenny but now live in Old Cwmbran with my Husband Gareth. I joined Mello'D' in May 2009 after being introduced by Jo. I love my day job as an Occupational Therapist working with children with neurological disabilities. Music has always played a huge part in my life. I started singing when i was 8 in the village choir and began having singing lessons at the age of 11 and continued with this until passing my Grade 8 when I was 21. I have always enjoyed singing in different groups from school choirs to chamber choirs and ensembles and also enjoyed participating in amateur dramatic productions during my time at University. I also enjoy playing my gorgeous piano and going to the gym as well as socialising with friends. I'm really pleased to have found a group that I can enjoy singing with a relaxed and chilled out group of girls who know how to enjoy music and have a good laugh!

Jo Hi, my name is Jo and I live in Griffithstown. I joined Mello'D' in 2008. My musical influences started at an early age as both my parents played instruments. I began tinkering on the piano at the age of 3 and by 4 had started Piano lessons. Piano has always been my first love and I went through my exams over the years. I performed within National Eisteddfod competitions, local competitions and was also asked to accompany, as i came at a very cheap price!!! By the age of 7 I had decided that I wanted to learn a second instrument, and started Violin lessons after being told that the Trumpet was too loud and the Harp was too big!!! I played in school, local district, county and regional orchestras, even going on tour as far afield as Germany. I got into singing in my mid- teens, through classical training and weekly singing lessons. My greatest achievement is having sung at a national level with the National Youth Choir of Wales for a few years, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have continued to sing with various groups and choirs over the years, but since finding the girls of Mello'D' who were based in the village I live, I have settled into a group who sing a different style of music to that I had experienced previously, close harmonies within a very small group.
